Hi, I'm Ellen.
I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. I went to an all-girls' school for 14 years. I studied Art History at the University of Memphis, where I accidentally became a photographer after choosing a photo class to fulfill my studio art requirement. After a couple of years of denying how much I loved making photos, I traveled to the San Francisco Art Institute to become a full-time student of art photography. In the space of the past few years, my portfolio has grown as my repertoire of subjects has. I have two beautiful nephews, a couple of awesome doggies, and friends who are like family. I live in a city that's becoming more artistically inclined and has some stunning views. I am a part of a community where openness is key, questions are encouraged, and faith is a life-long journey. All of these things frame (yes, pun intended) the images I make.
